WELCOME TO THE CITY INHOSPITABLE DRONE TACKLING LEAGUE

WHAT IS DRONE TACKLING?

Drone tackling is an immersive competitive team and individual sport. Members of the City Inhospitable Drone Tackling League play against members of the Pro-Surveillance Elite League in parks, neighborhoods, and other venues.

HOW DO I PLAY?

When a member of the CIDTL (pronounced Citadel) sees a drone, they have thirty seconds to tackle. If the tackler chooses not to engage with the drone they automatically lose ten points off their lifetime score and drop a ranking. If they choose to engage they must tackle the drone out the sky. Use of tools is permitted in tackling. Slingshots, bats, and pogo sticks are common. Improvisational tools garner an additional point if successful. Once the player has tackled the drone, they must render it unusable ("kill it"). This is most commonly done via stomping but other methods are permitted. CIDTL is recruiting players with creative visions for the killing floor.

Once the player has killed the drone they do not need to engage with the player from the Pro-Surveillance Elite League. Rather it is best to leave the venue and calculate scores off-site to ensure continued play. If the player fails to kill the drone they still receive points for the attempt and additional points in categories detailed below.

Drone tackling is played in two seasons, running from spring to summer and then from fall to winter. Once you join the drone tackling league you can play in as many games as you like in both seasons.

WHAT MAKES DRONE TACKLING DIFFERENT?

Drone tackling is an immersive long-term sport. Beyond the simple fun it provides, it also encourages physical engagement with one's community, as well as creative problem-solving and snap decision-making.

The Pro-Surveillance Elite League uses drones-as-toys to acclimate us to surveillance and familiarize us with the technology so their use in war is widely accepted. A CITDL player is motivated by fun, but never loses sight of the CITDL's strong anti-surveillance and anti-war stance!

HOW ARE THE GAMES SCORED?

Scores are cumulative throughout the season.

Attempted tackle: 10 points.
Successful tackle: 20 points.
Refused tackle: -10 points.

Additional points are rewarded in the following categories.

Style, creativity, bravery, flair, rabble-rousing, community engagement (recruiting non-players into the league via acts of tackling), killing blow.

HOW DO I QUIT?

Drone tackling is a lifetime commitment. To leave the league, you must purchase a drone. Other drone-tacklers will hear of your betrayal via proprietary CIDTL Communiques and your drone will be specifically targeted as it will be worth extra points. The CIDTL is not responsible for any additional damage or injuries that may occur during the game.
